In October Eternity Technologies Ibérica started the production of traction batteries in their new facility in Sant Esteve Sesrovires (Barcelona).
With an area of 8,000 meters squares, this is the second plant that Eternity Technologies has implemented in Europe, with an initial capacity of 240,000 traction cells in the first phase, and a plan expansion by 2023 to reach 400,000 units. Eternity has made an important economic investment that exceeds 5 million euros, with the creation of 22 new jobs. The project will contribute to a greater integration and diversification of this industrial area with Eternity reinforcing its leadership in Europe.
The new plant has a SILVER certification environmental system and is a system of LEED sustainable building classification. They incorporate the most advanced technologies in the manufacturing of lead batteries, using Hadi Accumaschinen for construction of elements with electronic control and the experience of Inbatec for the formation and loading of the elements, all controlled by its exclusive computerised management system. Eternity also presents its new generation of batteries, QUASAR, with thin tube positive plate technology, in conjunction with carbon nanotubes in the negative plate, offers a high energy density, improved performance, high discharge and fast charging capabilities. QUASAR is designed to apply 24h / 7d multi shift, in cold stores, in airports for support teams on land, any AGV vehicle and to work with peaks of activity seasonal.
